Dohnalův mlýn is a family project born from love for tradition, history and nature. Every member of the family brings their unique care and enthusiasm to it, each lending a helping hand precisely where needed. The aim was to create a space where guests feel natural and relaxed – without unnecessary formality but with an emphasis on detail and quality. Efforts are made so that the mill retains its original character. During every reconstruction, great care is taken to ensure interventions are sensitive. Solutions are sought which fit into the overall appearance of the mill without disturbing its soul. Despite all this, today the space offers everything necessary for modern wedding receptions and celebrations. The mill stands in seclusion and is surrounded by nature wherever one looks. Forests, meadows and water create a calm environment that naturally invites rest, joy and sharing exceptional moments with loved ones. Dohnalův mlýn has stood on the bank of the Litava stream for centuries. The place where laughter now rings out and love is celebrated was once full of entirely different rhythms – the clattering of the mill wheel, the work of millers and daily life which took place here over generations. The mill, formerly known as Dolní or Střílecký, belonged among the oldest in the area and its story began to be written already in the 14th century. Owners gradually changed hands, but most significantly it was recorded into its history by the Matuška family, which kept it running for several generations. The last of them, Karel Matuška, lived here until 2009. After years of silence, the mill received a new chapter. In 2011 it was bought by the Dohnal family with the vision to return life to this place – different than before but equally honest. With respect for history and sensitivity for detail, gradually arose a space which retained its soul yet opened itself to new stories. Today the mill is a place where life is celebrated. Where people laugh, dance, slow down and are moved. It is a place for new beginnings worth remembering all one's life. A few basic facts about our mill: - Wedding receptions take place at the mill on Saturdays (rental Friday – Sunday) or on Thursdays (rental Wednesday – Friday). - The capacity of guests for the wedding reception in the barn is up to 100 persons. - A total of 40 persons can be accommodated within the estate grounds. In case more accommodation is needed, places which are a short driving distance from the mill can be recommended. - Included in the rental is all equipment (tables, chairs, refrigerator, kettle, dishwasher, ice maker etc.). - There is no restriction regarding night quiet at our venue (however wedding guests are asked not to have speakers on full volume after 22:00). - During the period of wedding rental the mill is rented exclusively for you. The mill does not operate any public restaurant. - Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are arranged by the wedding parties themselves (without corkage fee). - Presence of dogs at weddings is permitted. - It is possible to arrange a ceremony directly on site.
